A Year of Contemplation

What's All This About? (Day 0)

12/31/2018

Hi there, readers!

Thank you all for taking the time to check this out, and gods be good, you and I will BOTH be here at this time in 2019, looking back over the year and how we've grown from now to then.

That being said, allow me to explain what this blog is about, and what'll be happening here:

Recently, I have been studying and practicing (at a very beginner level) Stoicism, and in seeing this, my amazing wife, Rev. Missy, gifted me with a stack of books for Winter Solstice. (YAY! I love books!!)

Anyway, amidst the works of Marcus Aurelius  and Dr. Massimo Pigliucci was hidden Ryan Holiday's The Daily Stoic.

In essence, it's a practice text with daily meditations/contemplations on Stoic topics from Stoic perspectives.

I appreciate the process of working through "daily" practice style texts, and I have worked my way through several over the course of my life. I planned on doing the same with The Daily Stoic, but doing it in a vacuum wasn't what I wanted to do.

So... in an effort to practice transparency, realism, as well as develop my humility, I decided to share my journals and processes with y'all. **insert nervous smile here**

Tune in this year and I'm sure you'll find something compelling, captivating, cantankerous, or compassionate.

Have a blessed 2019 everyone, and I'll see you here tomorrow!
