Today, on the heels of another Colorado school shooting, many are left wondering what it all means. Dozens of questions about the who, what, where, why, and how of good and evil. Who is this person that they could cause so much senseless harm? What could they have been thinking and feeling to cause them to take such terrible actions? Why on earth would they do something like this? Where did they get the tools to pull this off? How can this be happening again… and again… and again…
It’s happening because individuals CHOOSE to do these terrible things, just like good things happen because people choose to do good.
It’s not a mystery.
It’s not rocket science.
It’s basic human nature. We do the things we choose to do.
Choose understanding. Choose compassion. Choose kindness. Choose SYMPATHEIA (interconnectedness), and live according to SUMMUM BONUM (the greater good).
