Looking back toward the times of our ancient ancestors, we learn that those peoples believed everyone had a specific role, purpose in life, or a place in the cosmos. Everyone has a job, a calling, a singular duty. Even people who would do terrible things, the ancients believed to be doing their job, because in life, terrible things happen and someone’s got to do them.
That’s pretty screwed up, though. What if we all chose to do the same meta-job…
… be good.
If our job is being a good person, then as long as we’re doing our job, whatever else happens is inconsequential.
