A Leader Leads (Day 194)

Take a moment and reread the title of today’s post. It doesn’t say the following:

Leaders seek praise.
Leaders look to be recognized.
Leaders need to be thanked.
Leaders insist on being quoted.
Leaders need credit.
Leaders manipulate others so their egos can be served.

Yeah… it doesn’t say any of that stuff.

Leaders lead because it’s what they do, because it’s who they are, and because they consider it their duty. They lead out of a place of service and selflessness. To people like this, leading is a sacred charge, and not a legacy-building endeavor.
